Bra Hunt – What a fabulous response!
A big “Thank You” to all who donated. At our meeting the following Wednesday, we counted all the Bra’s we had collected whilst enjoying a delicious Comic Relief Red Nose bun made by one of our members Leslie, the final count to date was 500! AND they are still coming!
The picture shows our jubilation at such a Wonderful Bra, result!
There can’t be a spare bra left in Garstang! Well done ladies. Your Bra’s will soon be on their way to Senegal providing a positive life-changing employment opportunity for many women.
Bric-a-Brac Stall - on a cold March Saturday, with your help, we managed to raise £131.00 for charity on our ‘bra collection’ stall.
Forton schoolchildren, involved in the Backpack Project from the very start, have been busy helping Garstang Soroptimists fill TEN more backpacks with clothes. flip flops, hygiene items, stationery, and school equipment. The children realised how hard it would be to go to school without such basic equipment and were very pleased to know that they had helped another 10 children to fulfil their dream of having an education. They fully understand what a difference they are making to the lives of children less fortunate than themselves. The recent Comic Relief programmes highlighted the desperate need that children in Africa have for education – with your help, we are giving that chance of a better life to some of these children. We now have a small store of some items but need - rulers, spoons, small towels, and of course your unwanted backpacks. Thank you.

P.S. Could Mrs Pearson please give me another ring regarding Bra pick-up, as I could not hear her phone number on the message she left.
