On Sunday 16th December the Region, led by President Susan, held its International Day Service at The Chaplaincy Centre at Lancaster University. A chance for members throughout our Region to join together in a service of thanksgiving.
The service itself was a wonderful mixture of inspirational readings, hymns and two wonderful solos by Miss Chloé McLaughlan. The service also provided an opportunity for the members present to renew their commitment to Soroptimism and to the ideals for which it stands.
The sincerity of friendship
The joy of achievement
The dignity of service
The integrity of profession
The love of mankind
Following the service, all those present were invited to take afternoon tea in the Central Lounge. This was hosted by SI Garstang and, as usual, their hospitality team surpassed themselves with a fantastic array of sweet and savoury treats and a much needed cup of tea! This also provided a chance for members from our different Clubs to catch up and have a good natter before we all dispersed for our Christmas break.
