After two evenings of selling 'Parched Peas' at the Garstang Victorian Festival, club members came together for their annual Christmas party held as usual at The Crofters.
After a superb meal and a glass or two of wine, Christmas cards were exchanged, secret Santa gifts given out and then to end the evening there were poems, readings and of course a little singing helped along I'm sure by the aforementioned glasses of wine.
As the evening came to an end and members started to wend their way home, all agreed that it had been an excellent evening.
In honour of the occasion, our honourable secretary penned the following:
Party Time - it's here again
We've eaten well, our belts are strained
The wine is drunk
The crackers pulled
It's time to sit and have the craic
So do your piece, you have a wealth
Of rhymes and tales and even jokes
Perform a dance, sing a song
'Give us a clue', we'll play charades
So don't be shy, you're here with friends
There is no wrong, there's only right
We'll never judge, just give support
So come on girls, it's now your turn!
